What is Lucky 5s?
A 18+ beach social event
Saturday January 24, 2026 – 4pm to 9pm
Hosted by Beach YYC in Calgary (#3030 – 2600 Portland Street SE)
- Open to Teams and Individuals
- $240/team or $35/individual
- Co-ed teams participate in 5v5 round robin play
- All teams play in the final round
- 6-8 participants on a team
- Emphasis on fun!
About the event
Register as a team or as an individual to participate.
You are strongly encouraged to have a beach-related theme (e.g. lifeguards, surfers) and play in a single colour (e.g. yellow, blue)
Bring:
- Positive and friendly attitude
- Home team to provide the game ball for each match
- Athletic outfit – Suitable for play on sand, matching team theme and colour
- Socks – Play is sand is barefoot or socks (no shoes)
- Sandals or Crocs – for when socializing at the Tiki Bar
- Cash – Tiki bar will accept cards and Apple pay, but cash is preferred (no AMEX)
- Water Bottle – No glass
- Small Towel – to wipe sand off feet
- Towel & Shower kit – Shower are available at facility
- Evening outfit for After Party – in theme encouraged

8:30 PM - Final Round of Play for the Cup, Plate, Spoon, Jug...
9:00 PM - Presentations, Pizza & Party!
10:00 PM - After Party @ King's Head Eatery & Music Room - The Beach YYC
Facility Info:
- 16 teams, 2 divisions of round robins
- Pizza party is provided and included in fees.
- Afterparty at the Kingshead Pub
- Beer available for purchase during event from Beach YYC
- Pop, Chips, Chicken Strips, Tater Tots and Snacks available for Purchase during the event
